Top Albums of 2013

Hey, long time no post.  Here are my top 10 albums of 2013.  Some really terrific tunes got me through this year.  Hope you'll check em out!

*Super tight runner up: Washed Out- Within & Without

10. Pure Bathing Culture - MOON TIDES
dreamy :: smooth :: atmospheric

9. Caroline Smith- HALF ABOUT BEING A WOMAN
sultry:: everything you loved about TLC:: sophisticated

8. Foals- HOLY FIRE
best heard live :: decent offering from an incredible band :: damn good indie rock

7. Daft Punk- RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES
addictive :: booty shakin goodness :: electro-retro

6. 3-way tie: Vampire Weekend- MODERN VAMPIRES OF THE CITY
pure summer :: clam bake soundtrack :: SO them.

6. 3-way tie: Edward Sharpe- EDWARD SHARPE & THE MAGNETIC ZEROS
lemonade and bare feet :: Americana :: A different time and place

6. 3-way tie: Arctic Monkeys- AM
funky :: sexy :: totally black keys

3. Local Natives- HUMMINGBIRD
incredible :: One too many downers tho :: anguished?

2. Flaming Lips- THE TERROR
dark :: epic :: very surprising

And the # 1. Arcade Fire- REFLEKTOR
super intelligent :: best highs and lows :: dance-y

I have to say- even though Local Natives, Foals and Flaming Lips did not take the number one spot, we saw each in concert and I was BLOWN away by all three.  Local Natives, just damn good performers... Flaming Lips- holy crap what a concert.... and Foals, WOW.  I feel kinda bad but I still had to give it to Arcade Fire though, since Reflektor was just a *flawless* album, in my opinion.  So, there you have it!  Check out the 2012 list here!
