No question: M83- Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, This double album by Anthony Gonzalez, which actually came in at #18 in Spin Magazines 'Best of 2011', absolutely rings in as number one on my list of albums for 2011. Folks, this says a lot.
More over, This rating is not limited to bands who merely released albums in 2011. I am including the much larger pool of bands 'I discovered' in 2011. This includes major favorites such as, Tokyo Police Club, Animal Collective, Youth Lagoon, and Phantogram- just to name a few!
Hurry Up, We're Dreaming opens with my favorite tune on the album. Atmospheric perfection. From there, we have highs and lows, and baby it just flooows. It may not be jam packed with singles-worthy smash hits, but I truly think that this album is masterful. Who takes album of the year for you this 2011??
